How do you apply for mother tongue language lessons
You can apply for lessons for your child by completing this registration form and sending it to the Municipality:
(registration form in Danish)
Before completing the form, you should read about mother tongue lessons below.
Deadlines for applying for mother tongue language lessons
In deciding whether to establish a class, the Municipality considers the number of applications it has received before the 1 March 2021 deadline. Otherwise there is not enough time to set up classes and recruit teachers.
The deadline for applying for mother tongue language lessons in areas outside the Municipality of Rudersdal is 1 April 2021.
You will be notified in June whether your child has been accepted for lessons in a course in the Municipality or whether your registration has been forwarded to another municipality that has established a class in the relevant language.
When do the classes take place?
Classes in the Municipality of Rudersdal take place in the afternoon from 15:30 to 18:30.
Lessons in other municipalities can be scheduled at other times.
How many lessons are there?
Your child can attend lessons three times per week in grades 0–9.
However, the following applies to German and French lessons:
- German lessons are provided through grades 0–4 (students are taught German from grade 5 in lower-secondary school).
- French lessons are provided through grades 0–7 (students can choose French in grades 8 and 9).
Can the cost of travelling be refunded?
The Municipality of Rudersdal pays the travel expenses of students who live in the Municipality but receive mother tongue lessons in another municipality.
- The expenses will be calculated in September the following year.
- The calculation is based on the student’s attendance records.
- Refunds are based on travel using the cheapest available form of public transport.
