Childcare

In Denmark, families are offered childcare.

In Denmark, most parents work, and they place their children in a nursery (vuggestue in Danish, usually 0–2 years old), day care (dagpleje, mostly 0–2 years old) or kindergarten (børnehave, usually 3–5 years old) during the day.

Once parental leave is over, most children attend day care or nursery until they are about 3 years old.

After that, most children attend kindergarten or preschool until they start school, at about 6 years old.
